Shifting from Kerala to Bangalore — the complete guide

Cost, transit time, route and paperwork for moving a household from any Kerala district to Bangalore — the corridor we run daily.

  • 1 BHK ₹16,000–₹26,000 · 2 BHK ₹24,000–₹38,000
  • Transit 1–2 days on NH routes
  • No permit needed for used household goods

The Kerala–Bangalore corridor

Bangalore is the single busiest interstate destination for Kerala households — IT transfers, new jobs and studies move thousands of families up this corridor every month. We run it daily from every district: from north Kerala the trucks take the Kozhikode–Wayanad–Mysuru road, and from central and south Kerala the Kochi–Thrissur–Palakkad–Salem–Hosur highway. Both are full highway runs, which is why transit is fast and prices are among the lowest of all interstate routes from Kerala.

What it costs (2026)

Move sizeKerala → Bangalore
Few items / luggage₹9,000 – ₹15,000
1 BHK₹16,000 – ₹26,000
2 BHK₹24,000 – ₹38,000
3 BHK₹32,000 – ₹52,000
Car (driven on carrier)₹12,000 – ₹19,000

Bangalore sits at the friendly end of our interstate band because return loads run daily. Southern districts (Trivandrum, Kollam) land slightly higher than northern ones (Kozhikode, Kannur) purely on kilometres. A shared/part-load option brings small moves down further — ask when you book. Full rate logic is in our Kerala price list.

How long it takes

Loading day plus one to two days of transit is the normal pattern: load in Kochi on Monday, deliver in Bangalore on Tuesday evening or Wednesday. Northern Kerala (Kozhikode, Kannur) via Mysuru often delivers next day. Add a buffer day during monsoon weeks and long holiday weekends.

Paperwork — simpler than people think

  • No state permit is needed for used household goods — this is personal effects transport, not commercial goods.
  • ID copy — one Aadhaar or other ID copy attaches to the consignment note.
  • Consignment note (lorry receipt) — you get a copy with the vehicle number before the truck leaves.
  • Car transport — carry the RC copy; insurance and PUC copies are good practice.
  • Employer reimbursement — bank, PSU and government staff should ask for an IBA approved bill at booking, not after delivery.

Bangalore-side tips from our crews

  • Most Bangalore apartment societies demand a gate pass and a refundable move-in deposit, and many restrict service-lift use to fixed hours — confirm with your society two days ahead.
  • Tech-corridor areas (Whitefield, Marathahalli, Sarjapur, Electronic City) have weekday truck-timing restrictions on some internal roads; our drivers plan delivery slots around them.
  • Measure the lift and stairwell for large wardrobes and sofas — Bangalore's compact apartments surprise people used to Kerala houses.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to shift a house from Kerala to Bangalore?

Few items ₹9,000–₹15,000, 1 BHK ₹16,000–₹26,000, 2 BHK ₹24,000–₹38,000 and 3 BHK ₹32,000–₹52,000 in 2026. Bangalore prices sit at the lower end of the interstate band because return loads run daily. The exact figure is fixed in writing after a free survey.

How many days does shifting from Kerala to Bangalore take?

Normally one to two days of transit after loading. Kochi loads typically deliver the next evening or the day after; Kozhikode and Kannur via Mysuru often deliver next day. Monsoon weeks and holiday weekends may add a buffer day.

Do I need any permit to move household goods from Kerala to Karnataka?

No permit is required for used household goods — they are personal effects, not commercial cargo. You only need an ID copy for the consignment note, and the RC copy if a car or bike travels with the load.
